Meat Me For Dinner?

I am no longer a vegetarian.

You can tell because the other night for dinner, I helped cook this:

The wildly attractive head chef knew this was my first time preparing my own meat in this half of my life, so he added a sense of humor to the job.

Please note: the meat smile is made of kielbasa. Holy hell. Have you ever had a kielbasa? That shit is A-Mazing. So salty and juicy and yummy and I loved it and now sometimes I think about it when I am alone.

Tofu is all like, 'Hey remember me?'

And I'm all, 'Shut up you stupid hippie food, I'm thinking about kielbasa right now.'

Although, to be honest, sometimes I am thinking about prosciutto. Or homework.

I loved my happy meat dinner so much that I texted that pic to my friends. You can tell they are my friends when this is what they text back:

Wait! Seriously! You ate that!?! I have been known to eat meat from time to time but now, thanks to your photo and the movie Food, inc. I'm swearing it off for good.

Whoops, sorry Melissa! Didn't meant to scare you away from the wonders of meat - I've never been a great food photog. But don't worry, I'm pretty sure it was all sustainably raised and purchased locally at The Alemany Market. And, to be fair, I only ate about an eighth of the kielbasa smile and 60% of it's right meat eye.

Although being veg can be great! Enjoy your food journey! It sure makes ordering off a menu way easier when there are only a few options!

I'm just giving you a hard time. I love the meats! Especially meats that smile back :) And don't give up on food photography. Foodspotting is all the rage these days! First camera, then fork http://www.nytimes.com/2010/04/07/dining/07camera.html

Hey Melissa,

You're a jerk.

I love you, but you're a jerk. Acting all offended. Pshaw.

Of course meat doesn't taste good when it comes from Walmart. Just sayin'.

Anyway, you just left but I miss you already!
